Iles d'Or by Molinard c1929

Iles D'Or was originally created in 1929 and evoked the exotic flora of Polynesia. 






Fragrance Composition:

So what does it smell like? It is classified as a floral fragrance for women.
  • Top notes: plum, freesia, green citrus notes, pineapple, peach and apricot
  • Middle notes: cinnamon, lily of the valley, white Grasse jasmine and heliotrope
  • Base notes: musk, oakmoss, galbanum, cedar, sandalwood, amber and vanilla

Marie-Claire, 1937:
"Iles d'Or by Molinard: subtle. Dominant note: floral."

Molinard Catalog, 1949:
"Here you have the white Jasmine of Grasse, light, discreet, yet inspiring. Only a flask by Lalique could add to its prestige and beauty."

L'Amour de l'art, 1950:
"Les Iles d'Or by Molinard: Here is the white jasmine of Grasse whose disturbing but discreet smell intoxicates you like the song of a guitar on a deserted beach and here are their scents which have the power to embalm everything in the distance evening air."

Parfum Iles d'Or was housed in Lalique bottle in very luxurious box (about 1.25 oz). Catalog No. 2600.


 











Fate of the Fragrance:


Still sold in 1958

It was discontinued for many years before being reformulated in 2007 and relaunched as part of the Molinard 1849 Collection of seven famous fragrances from the perfume house. Available as 100 ml EDP.

It is classified as a fruity floral gourmand fragrance for women.
  • Top notes: green citruses, plum and freesia
  • Middle notes: jasmine, amber, cedar and sandalwood
  • Base notes: vanilla, musk and nougat
