Orval by Molinard c1946

Originally launched in 1900 as a fragrance for men. It was relaunched in 1946 as a perfume for women.






Liaison, 1947:
"Habanita, Calendal, Iles d'Or and Orval have made Molinard's worldwide reputation."

In a 1964 newspaper ad, Orval and Sketch were touted as Molinard's two most popular perfumes in their entire line, above Habanita and Nirmala.

Fragrance Composition:



So what does it smell like? Orval is classified as a woodsy green floral fragrance for women, with a dominant almond note.
  • Top notes: green notes, bergamot, mandarin, almond
  • Middle notes: honeysuckle, jasmine, ylang ylang, rose, orange blossom
  • Base notes: vetiver, sandalwood, leather, oakmoss, benzoin, civet
